Green Peaks Challenge

New challenge in sight and this month we wanted to tackle a major ecological issue: fast food!

We will spare you the usual speech that we can hear on the subject (note: because I am writing these lines, I am a cheeseburger and other salad-tomato-onion aficionado) but we wanted to share some tips to limit its impact in terms of waste as much as possible.

So this month try to adopt these few simple gestures when you go to a fast food restaurant:

  • Refuse the sauces that you are not going to consume, it would be a shame to throw them away.
  • Second option, return unused sauces to the counter when leaving.
  • Refuse unnecessary straws and bags, you can do without it, even for those that are recyclable and/or made from recycled materials. Good waste is waste that does not exist.
  • Collect unused towels, fast food often provide your weight in napkins at each meal, do not throw them away, they can be used for many other things!
  • And especially, save the leftovers for later (or give them to your hungry friends)

These are simple, common-sense gestures that can drastically reduce the amount of wasted resources with virtually no impact on your taste experience!

So good challenge & good appetite!
