Microsoft Go Cloud Day

I participated last week in the MICROSOFT GO CLOUD DAY event, at the pier in Lyon.

This event, in the form of a conference, is intended for the various Microsoft partners of which Peaks is a part. This conference was a sales and marketing presentation of Azure (morning) and office 365 and Dynamics 365 (afternoon).

The goal is to foster the partner ecosystem by showing how to package cloud offerings with a Cloud Service Provider (CSP) license model (in the form of a subscription).

Overview of Azure

Azure is a set of cloud services and offers several types of web and mobile applications, API management, storage services, databases, big data, infrastructure...

I appreciated the dynamic presentation of azure animated by the marketing manager France of Microsoft (who comes from the technique). 

Microsoft contributes to the development of open source projects. For the various services offered, we find for example Linux, for operating systems, Android, and iPhone for mobile devices, PHP, Java for development. I admit I was surprised by the opening speech towards all the technos and the competitors (Amazon).

I was seduced by the 'as a service' approach offered by the Azure cloud, and the approach to enable customers to switch their IS to the Cloud.  

Project prospects are important. The Microsoft team spoke to us data privacy aspect with the creation of a data center in France (initially for the health and public administration market).

Finally, I had the opportunity to discuss with the communication manager for certifications / training for partners.
