Back Peaks developer

What does your job as a back developer involve?

The job of back developer consists of design and develop the foundations of a web service (API, website). For example, we are not going to take care of the aesthetics/ergonomics of a website but of the features of it. We will allow the service to connect to the different databases, to the different APIs and to process the different data. All this while ensuring tested code and perfect operation with continuous integration. We may also need to develop scripts to be in line with infrastructure.

What was your professional background?

During my 5 years at epitech (computer school), I completed various internships. After a first internship in PHP, another in Ruby on Rails, I was led to use Node.js et React. Technologies that I immediately got hooked on because they are alive with very active communities that are always questioning themselves. I thus evolved in full-stack during my following internships, all with different projects. During an internship, I was able to manage the part alone website infrastructure, something I loved. I thus gently slid towards back development, with concepts that are closer to my personality.

What do you like about your job?

What I like about this job is being able to create new things every day. By creating these things, we simplify life / we help others and I find that magical. We are constantly led to find solutions to the various problems posed to us. There is always something new in this profession. We don't have time to be bored.

What qualities do you think you need to have to perform the job of back developer well?

Rigor, perseverance, curiosity and humility are, for me, essential qualities for a developer. Rigor because by nature the code leaves little room for error. Perseverance because a bug can give us a lot of trouble. Curiosity because sometimes you have to look far to find an answer to a problem. And finally humility because it is important to know your skills and your limits in the profession of developer.

What is the best memory that comes to mind at Peaks?
