Digital fresco, Peaksians made aware

The Peaksians for the La Fresque du Numérique workshop

La Fresque du Numérique is a fun and collaborative workshop to understand the environmental issues of digital technology as a team and in a fun way. It aims to raise awareness and define actions to be implemented to move towards ever more responsible digital technology.

For Peaks, it is part of the environmental aspect of our CSR approach and follows the training of our team on the climate fresco. Discover the feedback from our first group participating in the workshop.

How does the Fresque du Numérique workshop take place?

The workshop takes place in 4 stages:

First, understanding, then creativity, followed by restitution and finally action.

  • Comprehension : identification of the links between the cards to build our Fresco and thus realize the impact of digital technology on the environment
  • Creativity : assimilation and illustration of key messages, choice of the title of our Fresco “Khoné’cté”
  • Restitution : sharing of teachings by our group of Peaksians and restitution of the Fresco by Stéphanie Bedouin, our Frescouse in the workshop
  • Action : discovery of “action” cards, exchange and identification of those to remember, personally and collectively.

The 7 key principles of the workshop to remember

  1. Digital has nothing dematerialized or virtual, it is very material
  2. What has the most environmental impact are user terminals
  3. Huge amounts of ore must be mined to craft equipment
  4. Recycling is not effective, it is a very partial solution
  5. Resources of metals and fossil fuels are limited and becoming rarer
  6. Because of the rebound effect, technology alone does not solve problems
  7. Another digital is possible

Our conclusion on the Fresque du Numérique workshop

La Fresque du Numérique is therefore a collaborative workshop mixing exchanges of points of view and collective intelligence around a major subject: the impact of digital technology on the environment, on human living conditions, social relations, geopolitical conflicts, etc.

As a citizen, human being and digital actor on a daily basis, this awareness-raising exercise seems essential. It is also a good opportunity to strengthen our team spirit, and to think together about a more conscious future!
