Feedback on the Agile Tour Montpellier 2023

The Agile Tour Montpellier took place on September 18 at the Halle Tropisme in Montpellier. More than 300 agilists met for a day to share their passion and explore new horizons. Clément, Project Manager at Peaks Méditerranée, participated in the 2023 edition. He shares with us his feelings about the 3D Welten workshop.

Sabrina Lammert's 3D Welten workshop

I participated in the “3D Welten (three-dimensional worlds)” workshop: a global and fun vision of your organization, led by Sabrina Lammert. This is a method aimed at making decisions emerge collectively.

The course of the workshop

On a board made up of a hexagon grid, each participant (group of 8 people) is distributed hexagons and markers.

  • Each protagonist writes down 6 “answers” to the proposed problem
  • In pairs, of the 12 answers, 6 are eliminated
  • Each duo then presents their 6 answers to the others, positioning the hexagons on the grid
  • If the answers are similar, we only keep one occurrence
  • If the answers are close but different, join the hexagons
  • What emerges is an archipelago of ideas.
  • The team receives hexagons of different colors around which the white hexagons placed in islands are grouped.
  • The title of the island is written on the hexagon of a different color.
  • Bridges can be placed between the islands if there is proximity
  • Each participant receives two raised hexagons allowing them to prioritize a response. These raised hexagons are placed under the hexagons on which the answers are written.
  • Next comes a round table discussion to discuss a re-prioritization of responses. This is the time for the vote and explanation of this vote if the differences are strong.
  • Each participant receives 2 figurines representing a persona (a type of user A)
  • The participants then place the figurines on the hexagons according to the priority but also according to the persona
  • Each participant receives 2 figurines representing a persona (one to develop)
  • The participants then place the figurines on the hexagons according to the priority but also according to the persona
  • Each participant receives 2 figurines representing a persona (a user type B)
  • The participants then place the figurines on the hexagons according to the priority but also according to the persona
  • Each participant then receives 2 figurines representing risks

What emerges is an archipelago of hexagons which visually demonstrates the prioritization of the different responses based on personas as well as the risks associated with each response.

This is a method that I found interesting although the temporal dimension does not appear. However, visualization is easy and the issues are easily assimilated.
