CIR and CII: Peaks approved

As part of our research & innovation project “ Brin'Git », Peaks has submitted an application for approval concerning the research tax credit (CIR) and the innovation tax credit (CII). The response is favorable and allows us to be CIR AND CII approved for the year 2023 and 2024.

What are the CIR and the CII?

The CIR is a tax system allowing companies to finance their research, development (R&D) and innovation activities. This is how, under certain conditions, approved companies can deduct the amount of their R&D expenses from their taxes, up to a maximum of 30%.

The innovation tax credit (CII), for its part, is a support system for innovative businesses established by finance law 2023. It allows approved companies to benefit from a tax credit of 20% of expenses necessary for the design of prototypes or pilot installations of new products.

What does this mean for Peaks customers?

First of all, it is a guarantee of seriousness and recognition delivered by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR). Il endorses our know-how and expertise in research and innovation work.

Then, in our capacity as consulting company, our approval allows our clients to promote the services carried out with Peaks within the framework of the CII/CIR. And this is just like their other R&D expenses.

In other words, expenses incurred by our clients in research or innovation projects entrusted to Peaks may entitle them to the research and/or innovation tax credit. Peaks invoices can then be included in the calculation of the CIR and/or CII base.

What is the difference between innovation and research?

R&D must demonstrate a scientific approach to address a technical obstacle by providing knowledge in the field. This project must demonstrate creativity and the results must be transferable and/or reproducible. It focuses on the state of the art.

Innovation concerns the improvement of existing products. Whether in terms of technical performance, eco-design, ergonomics and/or functionalities. We focus here on the state of the market.
